About

Since my family is the best thing about me I'll start there. This is my husband Todd. He's amazing. We met at an academic conference in California in 2004, which is ironic because an academic conference is the most unlikely place to ever meet a guy. Todd is the kindest and most humble person I know. He always sees the best in everyone. Everyone! He's ivy-league educated, which means he's way smarter than me (a fact I appreciate only some of the time). Todd and I view life through the same lens, and we're both self-aware enough to know that we're probably not what is considered "normal."
These two beautiful little people are my kiddos. My daughter is 17 and my son is 15. There is no role on this earth that I love more than being their mom.
I can't forget about our Shiz Tzu, Toby. Against my better judgement, we got a puppy during the 2020 lockdown. He's as sweet as he looks!

In November, 2017 my sister became a grandma! In this photo I was meeting Jack for the first time. What makes this picture so special to me is that my sister has stage IV lung cancer and being able to see her grandchild was her heart's desire. God honored her desire and this moment was one I'll never forget. I'm so glad someone snapped a photo. BTW, baby Jack is absolutely adorable and has given our entire family such joy.

Where I'm from: I am a small town girl. I grew up in the small town of Livonia, NY which is outside of Rochester. This picture is of the beautiful Conesus Lake located in Livonia. I grew up swimming and boating on this lake. I even went ice fishing a few times. I went to college out of state and never really returned again on any sort of long term basis, but I'm forever grateful for having grown up in this beautiful place and for the amazing people who taught me so much.
